The Hallbars Sustainability Research Institute has included IRRI's 2021 annual Report in its 2022 Best in the World list under the category of agricultural research institutions.
The Hallbars Awards reviews thousands of corporate sustainability reports, integrated annual reports, institutions reports, and documents from over one hundred countries and ranks them based on top quality. It showcases efforts worldwide for sustainability in both private corporations and public institutions.
IRRI's 2021 annual report, The Drive to Thrive, is a comprehensive account of the institute's activities throughout the preceding year which marked the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic. It details how IRRI’s officials and staff, by going above and beyond, navigated the organization and its research activities and other initiatives through the global health restrictions that created unprecedented disruptions in all sectors to remain on track.
“Our annual report is an important tool for communicating the progress IRRI has made in delivering leading-edge science-based solutions”, according to IRRI Director General Jean Balié. “I appreciate the creativity, attention to detail, and storytelling abilities that helped make the report a success”.
