About
Brief description of your work in IRRI: Lead the Geospatial Science and Modelling cluster. The cluster applies remote sensing technology, spatial analysis, modelling and data intelligence for i) developing crop monitoring and forecasting systems to support food security and policy, crop insurance and disaster response, ii) documenting potentials and constraints of agricultural systems to support decision making and policy planning, iii) improving crop management and input use (water, herbicide, nutrients) – precision farming – for increasing farmer income and enhancing environmental sustainability, and iv) mapping/predicting global change driven-risks, vulnerabilities, and climate change impacts on rice-based agro-systems.
Field of specialization: remote sensing and geographic information science, agriculture, natural resources, ecology, vegetation
