Dr. Robert Zeigler

Dr. Robert "Bob" Zeigler is the director general of the International Rice Research Institute.

Bob started off teaching science with the Peace Corps in Africa and went on to research plant diseases in South America, Asia, and the USA.

He tirelessly advocates the work of IRRI across the world to foster wider awareness of the issues facing rice farmers and consumers in the developing world and to garner support for rice research. He travels widely and shares his stories and opinions in this blog.
