About

I am Erin, currently a junior at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. I am taking up a degree in Agricultural Biotechnology under the College of Agriculture, specializing in Food Biotechnology, under the supervision of Dr. Lotis E. Mopera (Food Science Cluster, CA, UPLB). I find my field of study very challenging, but interesting and relevant to the issues faced by agriculture, especially in our country. I am affiliated with UP Genetic Researchers and Agricultural Innovators Society (UP GRAINS), a group of student-leaders who aim to promote the importance of agricultural biotechnology in the University, the society, and the country.

After my undergraduate studies, I would like to pursue further studies in agricultural biotechnology and how to effectively communicate it so that more people will understand and support this very important field. I also see myself devoted to various researches that will address the needs of agriculture, especially in developing countries.

Through the scholarship, I have also met co-scholars who have inspired me to become more responsible, persevering and hard-working to achieve my goals.
